Sandwich was the third and (what we thought as) the last band to perform at the Pinoy Rock 2012 organized by Alpha Phi Omega Alumni Association & Horton Entertainment last March 3, 2012.  Our photography group, MASP (Making Arts in Singapore through Photography) along with Shifters Photography, were tasked to cover the event so I left my tiny primes at home & brought along my brother‘s 24-70 2.8G. I added to my arsenal his Tokina Fisheye 10-17mm F3.5-4.5 & my 135mm f2 DC.

I maintained my previous settings at Manual, aperture at f2.8, shutter at 1/25o sec, & ISO set at auto but limited at 3200 maximum. I explained in my previous post that I cannot go beyond ISO 3200 due to noise banding and it is quite evident on the upper left of this sample shot. After 6Cyclemind conquered Top 5 that night, Sandwich simply stepped in & continued to deliver Pinoy Rock at its best.

The last time I saw Raymund Marasigan live on stage was eons ago when he was striking snares & cymbals for Eraserheads. Seeing Raymund holding the mic away from the drums for the first time was quite peculiar. He packed a lot of energy dancing on stage & serving jump shots in a silver platter.

Just when we thought that the night was about to end, Raymund called up on stage the bad boys of Pinoy rock, Chito & Vinci of Parokya ni Edgar, and started to jam The Teeth classic “Laklak” (Binge Drinking). It brought the house down and, in respect to Sandwich & 6Cyclemind, the unexpected appearance of the duo marked as the climax of the event lifting up everyone from the dance floor.
